Game report for August 7th:

Both the Mavericks and the Waimai hockey teams fronted for the Mens second division hockey game last Saturday. The previous week's game had been played in heavy rain but it had nothing on the rain that was experienced in this match-up. The ball plopped from pond to pond and at times the players couldn't see for the blinding rain. Nevertheless the goals kept coming for the Mavericks who came out of the match with a 10-0 win.

Michael Whyte, Daniel Phillips, Graeme Blincoe, Dylan Brown and Chase Brown were all rewarded for their hard work with goals and on this occasion the defence were not tested too severely.

The last game of the round robin series will be played on Saturday against the Federal Seniors after which the points will be added for the semi finalists. Finals will be played on 5th September.
