SeniorNet Motueka
SeniorNet Motueka commenced operating in July 1998 as part of the nation-wide programme to teach, within a congenial environment, basic computer skills to persons in the 55+ age group and those who are physically disabled. Members enjoy the opportunity of taking a variety of computer related courses, which are listed separately. We aim to accommodate four students with two volunteer tutors who are assigned to each course, so personal attention is assured.
Member's Meetings take place on the first Monday of each month in our Club Room at 42 Pah Street. Most meetings alternate between having a guest speaker and discussing common problems and sharing information.
Open Days are help on the third Saturday in every month and give members the opportunity to meet in a relaxed and informal atmosphere, exchange knowledge with other members, solve problems they have encountered, and be assisted by our tutors on a hands-on basis. The clubrooms are open between l pm and 4 pm. The dates for the Open Days will be advertised in our Newsletters, on our Website and by email to the membership.
Annual subscription of $30 single or $40 couple falls due in September.
Courses: These are the starting dates for courses which are held over these 4 terms - unless stated otherwise courses consist of 2-hourly sessions over 6-8 weeks. A list of courses being offered each term is posted to each member by email well before the start of each term with contact details of the course tutors.
Course Cost - Varies depending upon which course you take. Included in the course cost are either a manual, or a CD ROM and tea and coffee. Short 4 week courses are $20.00. (The longer 6 and 8 week courses are $30 and $40.)
