Abel Tasman Educational Trust (ATET)

ATET is based at Riwaka as a training provider running vocational training courses for unemployed and disadvantaged adults and youth.

We administer a range of courses covering driving and industry associated skills, Art and Design, Tourism and Customer Services, work based training and conservation. We have a strong social support philosophy and encourage our students to prepare themselves for working life by offering real life working experiences.

All courses include foundation life skills including literacy and NZQA unit standards to ensure that learning is accredited and registered with the qualifications authority. Assistance with travel costs is available. Enquires about our courses are welcome and we generally can take students at any time of the year.

It is run by a Board of Trustees and a team of dedicated staff. The Trustees volunteer their time and offer support and expertise to help the Trust run effectively. The staff are all people who are committed to making a positive difference in the community, and in the lives of the people who come to ATET.

ATET has been registered with New Zealand Qualifications Authority since 1992 as a Private Training Establishment and offering accredited training since 1995. This training provides an excellent foundation for higher education or employment.

ATET staff are actively involved in fostering strong community networks and providing links with employers and industries that enable comprehensive pathways to employment.
