Motueka Recreation Centre (MRC)
Managed by the Tasman Regional Sports Trust as part of the Tasman District Council's Recreation Management contract, the Motueka Recreation Centre is the centre of recreation happenings in Motueka.
With a well-equipped fitness suite, international-size roller
skating rink, sports stadium, martial art dojos, climbing
wall, school holiday and youth programmes and cinema,
there is something for everyone at the MRC.

Opening hours:
The Motueka Recreation Centre is open 6 days a week:
Monday - Thursday: 9am - 9pm
Fridays: 9am - 10pm
Saturday: 9am - 4pm
Sunday: Closed
Closed Statutory Holidays.
The Motueka Recreation Centre has something for everyone, from roller skating to social sports. Come and vheck out our new wooden floor.
Roller Skating sessions are Fridays 6pm – 8pm and Saturday 1pm - 3pm. Cost is only $5.00, and this includes blade/skate hire.
Badminton is very popular. These games are played on a rotation system within the players on the night. Kids badminton is from 4.30 - 6.30pm and costs $4.00. Adults is from 6.45 - 8.45pm and costs $4.00.
OSCAR after-school and holiday programmes
The centre runs three programmes over the holiday period, one from Weka House for 5 - 13 years, one from the Motueka Recreation Centre for 5 - 13 years, and a 9 - 13 year programme for those children that need a more advanced programme.
Our programmes are all CYF and WINZ approved.

Weka House runs a very successful after-school program for primary school children with fun activities from 3pm to 5.30pm.
Free pickup from local schools and afternoon tea is provided.

60+ club - a great age to be
(Located out of Weka House)
A social club for the 60-plus members of the Motueka community who want to get out on a Tuesday from 9.30am to 1.30pm for crafts, gentle exercise, outings and more. Morning tea, lunch and transport provided in the local Motueka area.
Sunshine club
(Yes, we do keep our clothes on)
A 60-plus social club including pick-ups, morning tea and drop offs. A morning of activities to keep the body young. Fridays 9am to 12 noon.
Gym
The Motueka Recreation Centre Gym is Motueka's longest established gym providing both machines and free weights. It is available for use by casual users Monday - Saturday and is also available to members by application 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Les Mills Group Fitness Classes
The new generation of fitness classes. There’s a new phenomenon sweeping through gyms. The phenomenon is called Group Fitness. Les Mills has led the way in Group Fitness and the Motueka Recreation Centre is proud to be able to offer a range of Les Mills Group Fitness Classes. Try one today!

Indoor Walking Group
Mondays 9.30m at the Recreation Centre. Walk an indoor all-weather walking track that includes strength and balance circuits, plus pedometers to count your steps and monitor progress. $4 with cup of tea provided. Contact: Jody Maru, 528 8228.
