Library offers art workshops for beginners

You'd like to draw or paint but are too shy to join an art group? The Motueka Library is offering three art workshops for beginners over the next three weeks.
The morning workshops will be conducted by the appropriately named Marian Painter, who is a leading member of the Motueka Art Group.
Well known fo her ability to draw skills out of beginners, Marian will inspire your creative side and help you learn some new art skills.
Workshop 1: So you think you can't draw? 31st July, 10.00am - 12 noon
Anyone can draw - This will be a fun two hours to have a go. Bring sketching paper (at least A5 in size), any drawing pencils and pens you may have, and an eraser.
Workshop 2: Composition and Mondrian. Monday, 7th August, 10.00am - 12 noon
Explore how his art developed and what inspired him. It will then be time to have a go at creating your own Mondrian masterpiece! Bring pencil and ruler, scissors, glue stick and black marker pen.
Workshop 3: Illuminated Lettering. Monday, 14th August, 10.00am - 12 noon
This will be a fun morning of creating your own style of lettering and illustrating a letter with any form of decoration. Bring pencil, eraser and any colouring pencils or gel pens, including metallic colours, you may have.
